Everyone has come to accept the fact that the world is flat … but seems like its not only flat but its shrinking. I find myself exclaming ‘ its a small world” more often then I thought I would.
Recently having moved out of seattle after spending 6 years of my life there, I am amazed at the number of people I run into who either know me or who i know directly or through some connection. Remind me of something one of my prevous colleagues used to say…. she would call us the mob
, that the next person you meet is the guy who walked your uncle’s daughters dog in the winter
. Maybe this is a cultural thing for certain nationalities indian, asian etc… but I tend to disagree, i think its just the way the world is growing to be or maybe it is a generation thing. Also sites like linked in and other social networking sites have made the world not only flat for smaller and made it easier not only to keep in touch with people but to make new connections.
So whats wrong? Nothing really, everything is really good … but makes me wondering with the shrinking flat world will the impact of having a strong network slowly reduce/demenish.. well I guess we just have to wait and see
